Overview:
We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as full time, part time, and casual Direct Care Support Workers. As a Direct Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to individuals experiencing developmental disabilities. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the people we support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with accessing their community
- Be a role model and help with problem solving and conflict resolution
- Maintain a clean and safe environment
- Follow support plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals and behaviour specialists
- Monitor, report, and document progress towards goals and any changes
- Assist in coordinating social gatherings and planned group activities
Skills:
- Experience in human services, specifically disability support is an asset
- Knowledge of medication administration, positive behaviour support, and person centered care is an asset
- Knowledge of the local community, organizations, and businesses for potential partnership opportunities
- Willing to learn and grow in skills and knowledge
Qualifications:
- Must have valid Class 5 driving license
- Must obtain or have Standard / Intermediate First Aid certificate
- Must obtain or have satisfactory Vulnerable Sector check from the RCMP
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Availability for shift work, must be willing to work onsite in Lloydminster, AB/SK.
